A PC Based Collection Management System
At CIM, we know that internal collections for your student loans can be tremendously complicated, costly and time consuming. As your partner in student loan management, we can provide the support you need to streamline your in-house collection efforts with a new PC based collection system called Account Manager.
With Account Manager, you can save time and improve the overall efficiency of your collection activities by reducing cumbersome paperwork and manual collection procedures. Your collection staff can spend more time working directly with borrowers, and with timely borrower contact, you improve your chances of successful collection and help reduce delinquencies.
Account Manager was developed by Cuskey, Ipsen and McCall Consultants, Inc. (CIM), software and information specialists with over 25 years experience, and is available through EFR and EFG for installation on your campus. The menu driven program is easy to use, provides on-line assistance, and can be easily updated.
Accurate, Up-To-Date Information
Using your own PC (see minimum configuration requirements), Account Manager lets you quickly access and organize valuable collection information on your student loans, so you can communicate the most accurate and up-to-date information to your alumni. At your fingertips you'll have demographic data, past payment activity and a complete collection history that can include phone calls, correspondence, payment arrangements and credit references as well as notes and comments entered by your collections staff.
Account Manager enables you to review account information from the EFG System III database or access credit bureaus and other on-line databases. Tasks made easier with Account Manager include reviewing the status of your accounts in collection, sending and receiving messages and printing collection notices at your location.
More Effective Workload Distribution
Using selected criteria predetermined by you, Account Manager will help you schedule collection activity by prioritizing your accounts and automatically presenting the accounts that are most delinquent. This workload distribution feature gives internal collectors the accounts that need immediate contact and reduces the time your staff spends researching files.
Account Manager has several features designed to support timely communication with borrowers, provide follow-up on delinquent accounts and prevent unauthorized access to account information.
Automatic Dialing
Account Manager has an automatic dialing feature that saves time and increases the efficiency of collection calls. Using an autodialer, the system will automatically dial and log calls from your predefined list of telephone numbers including credit references, banks, etc.
Word Processing
Account Manager's word processing capability allows you to create your own form letters for quick and effective communication with borrowers. Like telephone calls, letters are automatically logged into the borrower's history files. An unlimited number of letters may be stored, and Account Manager can interface with other word processing, spreadsheets and database packages.
Tickler File
With Account Manager, it's easy for your collector to assign a loan to the "tickler file" for future action. The tickler file then monitors the account activity and automatically alerts the collector of non-performance by the borrower or other criteria defined by you. Coupled with phone calls and personalized letters, the tickler file enables the collector to provide timely follow-up on borrower activity. By helping to decrease the number of accounts you hand over to external collection agencies, you can reduce the operating costs of your loan collection activity.
Data Security
The Account Manager system prevents unauthorized access to data. Comprehensive security features are built-in to allow staff members access only to information they are authorized to use.
Improved Collection Monitoring
With Account Manager, you can monitor collection activity and staff performance more efficiently, and management reports can be generated to provide better and more timely information for decision makers. Using internal collection reports, you can review the performance of your collectors and how many successful contacts have been made on any given day.
